Etornam has quickly risen to the position of senior associate due to his depth of legal knowledge and commercial savvy exhibited in his approach to solving complex client matters for which there is a dearth of statutory provisions. He has been involved in a number of transactions spanning M&A, capital markets and advising clients on general investment and corporate issues. He also has a deep understanding of Ghana's tax regime and routinely provides specialist advice to both local and international clients in that area.
In 2012, Etornam was selected as the Ghanaian delegate to participate in the 3-month advanced training scheme and work experience placement organised by the International Lawyers for Africa where he was seconded to Clifford Chance LLP in London. His experience and exposure gained from working in a "Magic Circle" firm has deepened his expertise and given him an international outlook which is refreshing in local counsel.
In recognition of his outstanding academic excellence, he was awarded the prestigious John Mensah Sarbah Prize for the Overall Best Graduating Student in the Ghana School of Law when he was called to the Bar. He was also the recipient of the coveted Kwamena Bentsi-Enchill Prize for the Best Graduating Student at the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, when he received his LL.B.
Prior to his pursuit of a career in law, Etornam worked as an Audit Associate and an Assistant Tax Consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Ghana where he was involved in providing assurance and tax compliance services to leading multinationals in a range of industry sectors including banking & finance, telecommunications, mining and consumer products.
